Farmers’ agitation kicks off from CM Vasundhara Raje’s Assembly constituency

The Opposition Congress initiated its state-wide farmer agitation from chief minister Vasundhara Raje’s Assembly constituency, Jhalarapatan on Wednesday. As part of the Opposition’s campaign, the farmers from various parts of the constituency gathered at the banks of Chandrbhaga River to pledge support to the Congress in the upcoming Assembly elections.

The agitating Congress workers stood ankle-deep in the river water and held the water in hand to take a pledge.

The water testimony, “Jal Sankalp” campaign has been invoked by leader of opposition Rameshwar Dudi to garner support of farmers for the Congress. It is proposed to be held across the state and the next ceremony under the campaign is scheduled to be held in Dudi’s Assembly constituency of Nokha in Bikaner on Thursday. Interestingly the chief minister is also expected to be on a visit to Nokha on Thursday.
