Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s office said on Tuesday that President Donald Trump’s ex-national security adviser Michael Flynn provided “substantial” cooperation with its probe into possible collusion between Trump’s campaign team and Moscow.

In a court filing, Mueller’s office said Flynn assisted with the investigation “concerning links or coordination between the Russian government and individuals associated with the Trump campaign.”Flynn also provided “firsthand information about the content and context of interactions between the transition team and Russian government officials,” the filing said. Mueller’s office, citing 19 interviews provided by Flynn to Mueller’s office and other federal prosecutors, asked a federal judge not to sentence him to prison.
